Official Rules. V1.0
October 2025.
Standard rules of play for initial basic card decks.
Object of the game:
To use the cards in your Deck to proceed across the board and take out your opponents Soul card.
Getting started.
In the starter set, each player has 6 cards issued at the start of the game. These cards are:
1x Soul, 1x Skyscraper, 1x Ferret, 1x Page Knight, 1x Golem & 1x Bishop Daneth.
There are also 8 Orb cards in each starter pack which a player may chose to draw from. A player starts with 1x Soul card on the board and two other cards from their Deck in their hand. A player can only hold a maximum of 4 Orb Cards at any one point. Once an Orb card is used, it must be placed back in the Orb deck.
On their turn, a player can chose to draw a card from either their Deck or an Orb card but not both. Only one new card can be introduced per turn to the board. Remember, you may need some Orb cards before you can play any character cards drawn from your deck so chose carefully. If you hold the required Orb cards to enter a character into play, you must first pay the Orb cards back to the Orb card deck before your character can enter the playing board.
At the start of the game, each player will place their Soul card at their chosen end of the board. Only the Soul card is currently in play at the start of the game. The other 2 cards will remain in their hand.
On each turn, a player can choose to either draw a character from their deck or an Orb Card. If a card enters play, it must do so on one of the six starting positions at the starting position end of the board that corresponds to your chosen colour. At each turn, you can either move 1 character by 2 spaces (Forwards, backwards, left or right) or 2 characters by just 1 space each (Forwards, backwards, left or right.) You cannot move diagonally in any direction. On reaching your chosen new position, following the attack position on each card, you can chose to attack an opponents card within the allowed areas. Once a character has been eliminated, it must return to your discard pile. Once you have no more cards to draw from, you can then shuffle, flip & draw from your discarded pile, which now becomes your deck, to continue.
The Cards.
1x Soul
(The ‘main character’ that you need to protect. Lose your Soul Card & the game is over. The Soul Card can survive 1 attack but will perish on any second attack. Even if an attacking card has an attack of 4, it will only count as 1 on the Soul Card. A Soul card can only be attacked once per card, per turn)
1x Skyscraper
(Spell card which when played with another character, increases their attack by 2 and their health by 1. Can not be played on its own and dies when the card using it perishes.)
1x Ferret
(Can be played instantly when drawn and has 2 attack, 1 health. Can attack in the directions shown on the card. This card can also attack up to 2 times per turn for multiple cards within its attack pattern.
1x Page Knight
(Can only be played after paying 1x Gem Card to enter the game board. Has 2 attack, 4 health. Can attack in the directions shown on the card.)
1x Golem
(Can only be played after paying 2x Gem Cards to enter the game board. Has 0 attack, 10 health and occupies its own space and that immediately to its left. Is used as a defensive player to protect other cards.)
1x Bishop Daneth
(Can only be played after paying 2x Gem Cards to enter the game board. Has 4 attack, 4 health. It can attack in the directions shown on the card.
Additional Rules
Only spell cards can occupy the same space as another card, as this is what ‘upgrades’ the character that sits on top of it. No other type of card can occupy the same space as any other card. You can not play more than 2 spells on any one card at once.
The Soul Card can also move forward, back, left or right by one or two squares, but this will count towards any of the allowed character movements for your turn. For example, if you play Ferret one space forward, you are only allowed to move the Soul one space.
Enhance your deck by expanding your options by purchasing booster card packs.
